Membership Levels
The Degree of the Pine may be conferred upon those meeting the national and local requirements. This degree marks the beginning of the pledge period.
- To give each pledge the opportunity to become an active member by acquainting her with purposes, responsibilities, and activities of the Kappa Phi Club;
- To provide an opportunity for the development of leadership and fellowship among the pledges and active;
- To develop an understanding of, and dedication to, the work of the Church and community through study and service.
The Degree of the Light may be conferred upon sponsors, honorary members, and those who have completed the membership requirements.
The Degree of the Rose may be conferred upon a member in good standing leaving an active chapter upon completion of her prescribed course of study, or upon the recommendation of the chapter sponsor.
Legion of Light
Legion of Light is a recognition which is bestowed upon Kappa Phi alumnae who are in full-time, church related vocation, or full-time ministry of the laity.
Each National Council, a special ceremony of candles is held to recognize these women and celebrate their accomplishments. Kappa Phi sisters currently serve as missionaries in Europe, Africa, and Latin America. They serve as pastors in churches of different denominations from Alaska to Florida. They serve as Directors of Christian Education, and lead community service organizations. Kappa Phi alumnae are involved in Christian publications. They are authors, teachers, and counselors. Each one of these women has given her life to the full-time service of God, and we recognize and honor them through the Legion of Light.
